Who Is BRIDGE SHIP HOUSE?
BRIDGE SHIP HOUSE is a Japanese artist who has been drawing for roughly two decades, best known for his signature character: Matthew, a four-eyed rabbit who lives on a hill away from town and quietly keeps to his work. The pop-yet-melancholy world around Matthew has earned the artist collaborations well beyond the gallery scene — including apparel and even a BE@RBRICK collaboration. What "CRACK" Is About
The exhibition's premise is disarmingly simple. Matthew throws pebbles at a wall. Again and again. Small cracks appear, spread — and finally light breaks through the hole.
It's an image of the artist's own practice: solitary, repetitive, stubborn — until something gives. In a country whose art headlines are dominated by teamLab-scale spectacle, "CRACK" is the opposite kind of experience: a small, quiet show where one idea is given room to breathe.
