7-Eleven Japan konbini collectible

Of all the wonderfully weird things you can bring home from Japan, this might top the list this summer: an official BE@RBRICK wearing the 7-Eleven staff uniform. Yes — MEDICOM TOY's iconic bear figure, dressed in the green-orange-red striped shirt of Japan's biggest convenience-store chain, and it's something you can actually get your hands on in 2026.

Here's the full story, and how to hunt one down during your trip.

What Exactly Is It?

The SEVEN-ELEVEN limited "7-Eleven uniform ver." BE@RBRICK is an official collaboration between MEDICOM TOY and 7-Eleven Japan. The bear wears a faithful miniature version of the real staff uniform — the same one you see at more than 21,000 stores across Japan.

It exists in the classic 100% size (about 7 cm), and a 400% size (about 28 cm) version made headlines as a prize in 7-Eleven's official anniversary campaign. It's the perfect mash-up of two Japanese icons: the konbini and the designer toy.

Why Is Everyone Talking About It Now?

Two reasons, and they collided in July 2026:

  1. "7-Eleven Day" (July 11) — every year 7-Eleven Japan celebrates its namesake date with campaigns. In 2026 (July 1–11), shoppers whose receipt totaled exactly ¥711 could enter a lottery, and one of the top prizes was the uniform-wearing BE@RBRICK 400% (only 50 winners nationwide!).
  2. MEDICOM TOY's 30th anniversary — 2026 marks 30 years of MEDICOM TOY, celebrated with a big free exhibition in Omotesando from July 25–30. BE@RBRICK hype in Japan is at a peak.

And here's the twist that set collector communities alight: on July 11 itself — 7-Eleven Day — the uniform BE@RBRICK was reportedly put on sale as a surprise, with no advance announcement and only limited stock per store. The campaign is over — but the uniform BE@RBRICK can still be bought, if you know where to look.

Make It a BE@RBRICK-Themed Trip

If this little bear got your attention, July 2026 is honestly the best month in years to be a designer-toy fan in Tokyo:

FAQ

Is the 7-Eleven uniform BE@RBRICK an official product? Yes — it's an official SEVEN-ELEVEN limited collaboration with MEDICOM TOY, not a bootleg.

Can foreigners buy from Seven Net Shopping? The site is in Japanese and store pickup is the smoothest option. If that's a hurdle, Amazon Japan or resale shops are easier for visitors.

How much does it cost? Pricing depends on size and sales channel, and resale prices fluctuate. Check current listings before purchasing.

What if it's sold out everywhere? Resale shops in Nakano Broadway and Akihabara, plus Amazon Japan and Mercari, are your best backup — and new BE@RBRICK collaborations drop constantly, especially in this 30th-anniversary year.

🧾 Before you buy: tax-free, payment and getting it home

Tax-free basics

Bring your passport and spend at least ¥5,000 at one shop on the same day.

From 1 November 2026 the system changes: you pay the full price including consumption tax in the shop, then complete a refund procedure before you leave Japan. Buying tax-free at the register ends.

The same reform abolished the general-goods/consumables split, the ¥500,000 daily cap on consumables and the special sealed packaging. What changes on 1 November 2026

⚠️ Since 1 April 2025, goods shipped to your home country by international parcel are no longer tax-exempt. If you want the tax break, carry the item out yourself as baggage — shipping is for convenience, not for saving tax.

Paying

Big electronics and chain stores take international cards. Small card shops and second-hand stalls are often cash-only, so keep some yen on you.

Wallets from 17 countries and regions work at PayPay's QR terminals through Alipay+ — including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and the Philippines. You pay with your own app and the yen amount converts automatically. Cards from the US, UK and Australia are not part of this, so use your card or cash there.
